I have read the whole of the correspondence and the Military, Naval, and livil Reports connected with the appro: -priation of the Kowloon peninsula, I have also carefully examined the plan of the ground, and I have talked over the subject with Captains Trollope, Heath, Commerell, and By the
Bythena, Sr. and Leent. Col. Gprescrique, Rill, all of whom have recently returned from
China.
